Describe what you do
We are dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fostering spiritual growth both within correctional facilities and across Cuba.
In Prisons: Our evangelistic ministry in prisons utilizes music concerts as a dynamic platform. Through these events, we share powerful testimonies and deliver impactful sermons, culminating in an invitation to receive Jesus Christ. Beyond these large-group gatherings, we conduct morning and afternoon sessions focused on teaching and training leaders in biblical principles. Where feasible, we also facilitate the planting of churches within the prison system, establishing lasting spiritual communities.
In Cuba: Our ministry in Cuba encompasses a broad range of evangelistic and discipleship initiatives. We conduct evangelistic programs in local churches, lead inspiring worship services, and provide comprehensive pastoral leadership training. We also develop and implement specialized programs tailored for marriages, youth, men, and children's ministries, addressing the unique needs of these demographics.
A core component of our work in Cuba is humanitarian relief and financial assistance, aimed at alleviating suffering. Through quarterly short-term mission trips, we deliver essential supplies including medicines, medical supplies, food, and other vital items.
Furthermore, we've invested in two farm projects to combat food scarcity and provide sustainable support. This initiative aims to supply food to the poorest members of the community while also generating income to support the local ministry. By offering produce to the market at reasonable prices, the farm helps offset the high cost of food and creates a sustainable revenue stream to finance various church ministries and outreach programs.
Why did you choose your ministry? What led you to that ministry?
For several years I served as a pastoral intern, pastor, director of Men's Ministry and a Chaplain for Baseball Chapel. During these years it was necessary to be bi-vocational in order to support a family of five. It was during this time the Lord was calling me to full time ministry. I spent many weeks exploring different ministry opportunities; the Lord clearly led me to the mission field to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the incarcerated and the persecuted. I spent time with International Solid Rock and Tony Loeffler and traveled to many prisons throughout the nation and into Cuba to help with humanitarian items and to grow the church. After much discussion and prayer, my family and I believed the Lord gave me a clear path and a desire to serve in this mission field. In June of 2021 I said "YES" to God, "Send me".
When did you make the decision to serve in missions - how old were you?
While I had the privilege of participating in numerous short-term mission trips over several decades, my definitive decision to commit to full-time missionary service was made in June 2021. At that time, I was 60 years old.
Why did you decide on serving in this way? Why missions?
When people ask me why I serve in Christian missions, my answer always comes back to a few core convictions that drives everything we do. It's not just a job; it's a deep calling rooted in my faith.
Firstly, and most fundamentally, it's about fulfilling the Great Commission. Jesus' command in Matthew 28:19-20 to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" is not an suggestion, but a direct mandate. For me, serving in missions is a direct obedient response to this call. There are still so many people in the world who haven't heard the good news of Jesus Christ, or who have limited access to it. Our mission is to bridge that gap.
Secondly, it's about sharing God's love and compassion in tangible ways. While the spiritual transformation is paramount, the physical and emotional needs of people are also incredibly important. When we bring humanitarian relief, medicines, or food, it's not just about addressing immediate suffering, though that is vital. It's about demonstrating the love of Christ in action. It builds trust, opens doors, and shows people that God cares about their whole being – their physical well-being as much as their spiritual state. Seeing the relief on a parent's face when they receive food for their children, or knowing we've provided essential medical supplies, is a powerful manifestation of God's grace.
Thirdly, it's about participating in God's redemptive work. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells a story of God actively pursuing humanity, seeking to reconcile us to Himself. Missions are our way of joining God in that ongoing story. Whether it's planting a church in a prison, teaching biblical principles to leaders in Cuba, or helping a community develop sustainable food sources, we are actively participating in the restoration and transformation that God desires for His creation. It's about seeing lives changed, communities strengthened, and the Kingdom of God advanced.
Finally, it's a privilege to be a witness. The Bible tells us that we are to be witnesses "in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Serving in missions allows me to be a part of that global witness, to see God at work in diverse cultures and challenging circumstances. It stretches and strengthens my faith, broadens my perspective, and deepens my reliance on Him. There's an incredible joy in seeing someone come to faith, or a community find hope, and knowing that you've been a small part of God's grand plan. It's a profound sense of purpose that resonates deeply within me.
Have you had other occupations? What are they?
