Where do you work?

We returned from Kenya in 2022 and are now working with Africa Inland Mission from the US and returning to Kenya periodically.

Describe what you do.

While in the US I will be doing mobilization, teaching, mentoring and encouraging others to missions. I’ll continue to teach a practical Missions course in Kenya and do Orientation for new missionaries there during the summer months.

Why did you choose your ministry? What led you to that ministry?

Nancy and I have always felt the desire to see people come to faith in Jesus and to disciple them to share that faith. We learned a lot about ministry in our first 20 years in Africa doing church planting, evangelism, discipleship and mobilizing Africans to ministry.

When did you make the decision to serve in missions - how old were you?

I was in High school when I decided that I would be involved in some sort of ministry for the rest of my life but I made a solid decision in my first year of Bible school.  Nancy also made her decision to serve full time cross culturally in her first year of college,

Why did you decide on serving in this way? Why missions?

As a member of Hawthorne who grew up in the church, I got involved early in life doing ministry in inner city Paterson, teaching small groups as part of the Youth Group and getting involved in various ministries of the church.   Our desire to serve in Africa was an extension of our desire to serve wherever we could.  Our desire now is to see how we can encourage people to invest their lives in Africa to see the 900+ unreached people groups come to faith in Christ.  When we got married we collectively made the decision to serve in Africa with AIM and we wanted to do that in places where Christ was not known or worshipped

Have you had other occupations?

I did plumbing with my dad all the way up to the time I left for Kenya when I turned 30.  Nancy and I also trained to be pilots though we never went professional nor did we use that on the field.  I also have an Aviation Mechanics license which helped me a lot in fixing my vehicle while we lived in the remote areas of northern Kenya.

Hobbies or other interests?

Nancy and I both love wildlife.  We would watch for wild animals and birds in Kenya and still appreciate the deer and birds that are around our home.  I enjoy a little bit of photography.  Nancy actively works with her hands in quilting, knitting and doing other projects along that line.

Your favorite sport? Favorite team?

I still enjoy watching a good competition but we do not have a favorite team or sport
